As her duchy was announced at the same time as her full names, Adrienne Josephine Alice, and as the design of the Arms fits the usual pattern of placing the duchy's Arms in the Third Quarter of the Royal Arms, the design or Achievement was easily predicted. The Arms of the Province show an uprooted Oak Tree with the three Swedish Crowns around the trunk and are blazonned officially as thus: Azure, an Oak Tree eradicated Or ensigned with three Crowns palewise of the same. The Province was claimed from Denmark in the late Middle Ages and the three Crowns represent Swedish ownership.
This is the first time that Blekinge has featured as a royal duchy. The name allegedly comes from the adjective bleke, which corresponds to the nautical term meaning "calm". Presumably, Adrienne is a calm baby. We will find out on Friday...
