Heraldically, she appears to have been assigned, although apparently unofficially, with a blue Label charged with a central red Lion supporting a Pillar of Hercules (not an heraldic pun on her name as the Spanish blazon uses the word columna) between two Oak Trees. Otherwise, she marshalled the plain Arms of a Spanish Infanta with those of her husband.
We begin the New Year with the sad news that Infanta Pilar of Spain, elder sister of King Juan Carlos and therefore Aunt of HM King Felipe, passed away on 8th January of colon cancer.
